I am back!

My exam and few other annoying things now well behind me, I have no more excuse and need to get back at this project. Thanks for all of you who have sent me emails and comments to encourage me to pursue a project which has been sleeping for about a year.

To re-enter gently into the GF atmosphere I have decided to review Celso's head. Chay did a great design, but once 3D printed, its upper skull turned out to be too spherical for a character who is meant to have a long sad, somehow frightened face.

It was also the perfect opportunity for me to learn more about zBrush by revisiting an existing and relatively easy concept.
 Here is the result: on the right, Chay's original design and on the left my revisit. Tell me what you think...

  1. woohoo! Agree with you on the redesign, but I think you can afford to reduce the size of the eyes ever so slightly.

  3. Definitely works for me, I agree about the eyes though - he's a bit too spooked out ;)
    Good to have you back, it'd be phenomenal to have this in action. On a similar theme, have you seen the work Stacey Davidson's been doing on "Jack Houston and the Necronauts"?
    You also might want to change the "Don't sue me!" message at the side too, it's Disney you need to worry about now =S

    1. Thanks to the pointer to Stacey Davidson's awesome project. Nope, I had not seen it before. It looks like a great theme and I am very curious to see how the stop-mo will blend with the adventure gameplay. Seriously considering becoming a backer (although I may not go to 6k to get the stop mo puppet!)

    2. Glad you like it, I know he's always looking for extra funding, he's got shirts for sale and what-not... I dunno if you saw the videos, but he's running a "making of" channel with info on the modelling, kit bashing etc.

  5. So good to have you back ! I hope everything gone clear for you and that the Gf project will get a big kick ahead now :) I can tell that you have a serious growing fanbase in France.
    Also, i've tried to reach lucasarts by the time, but now i do understand why they never answer back... Sadly.
    Did you get any support by the last year ?

    1. Thanks Anat! It's good to be back at it. Trying to do a little something every day.
      Not sure what you mean by support. It's a fan art project so I really don't expect any support other than from like-minded people who are giving me advices, comments, and sometime even artworks, on this blog.
      If you have Lucas Arts in mind (now swallowed by Walt Disney), like any media company they have the policy of staying clear of Fan Arts activity. They tolerate it, but very rarely support it. Probably best for everyone (the fans and the publishers).
